Southwest Section PGA Summer Pass

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – The Southwest Section PGA announced today that new summer pricing has been introduced for the 2009 golf pass, which will offer discounted tee times at up to 75 courses in the Phoenix area through Oct. 31, 2009.

Additionally, for a limited time, anyone who purchases a Summer Golf Pass (by May 31) will be entered into a drawing for a 2010 FBR Open Members Club hospitality package, which includes two Members Club tickets per day, complimentary food and beverage and one VIP parking pass.

“This is the first time that we have reduced the price of the golf pass strictly for the summer months,” said Joel Schafer, Southwest Section PGA board member.  “We feel this is a great way to give golfers more options on discounted golf and the chance to see the exceptional value that the SWS Golf Pass offers.”

The cost of the pass is $75 and can be purchased directly at participating courses, which can be found on the Southwest Section PGA website at www.SWSGolfPass.com.

The Southwest Section PGA also is encouraging everyone to use their website to book tee times online, which will offer a “Best Rate Guarantee” at participating courses.  The SWS Best Rate Guarantee pledges to provide the best rate offered through any indirect website, or any other offer made available to the general public.

The Southwest Section PGA Golf Pass program began in 1994 as a means of bringing some clarity and consistency to the myriad golf discount programs that had flooded the market in Arizona.  On average the Section sells more than 20,000 Golf Passes annually, accounting for more than 200,000 golf rounds each year. Currently the Golf Pass is honored at 75 Arizona golf courses. Under the current Golf Pass Program, Pass holders receive a 25-percent discount off the posted weekend rates at participating courses and 50-percent discount off weekday golf rates.  Some courses such as Rancho Manana Golf Club offer larger discounts during certain periods throughout the year.  Rancho Manana has passes for sale in the golf shop and can be reached at 480-488-0398.

Money raised from Golf Pass sales is used by the Southwest Section PGA to support Junior Golf, the Golf Industry Association, the Cactus and Pine Foundation and other programs designed to ensure the continued health and growth of the golf industry in Arizona.

Lower Spring Rates Begin at Rancho Manana Golf Club

Rancho Manana Hole 8

Rancho Manana’s lower May rates take effect starting May 4, 2009.  According to General Manager, Dale Samar, “We lower them every year at this time and it really gives golfers looking for a true desert golf experience in

Arizona a great value.  The weather is still nice and the rates are low.”  The rates are $85 before 1:00 and $65 after 1:00 everyday.  Rancho Manana also offers a twilight rate of $39 after 2:30 pm daily.  “It’s really not a true twilight rate as there is plenty of time to finish 18 holes this time of year but it does cool off nicely on the back nine for players”.

Golf World Names Top Arizona Golf Courses

SunRidge Canyon Golf Club of Fountain Hills was recently named one of the top Public golf courses by GolfWorld Magazine’s Reader’s Choice Awards for 2009.  The magazine listed the top 50 courses in three categories including public, private, and resort.  There were four other public courses the made the list including Grayhawk Golf Club, Eagle Mountain Golf Club, the Raven at South Mountain and Las Sendas Golf Club.  We offer our kudos for those that made the list.

We thought there should be one more category for the survey called “Best Value.”
Courses such as Rancho Manana Golf Club that has peak fees less than $140 and after 1:00 fees of $105 and twilight fees for as little as $59 (all during the peak Feb-March Arizona season) and it has some of the best views and conditions along with very few holes that are surrounded by homes - only native desert.  It is a true favorite among both locals and visitors that play it.

Others that would make the list for “Best Value” include Sanctuary Golf Course in Scottsdale, Club West Golf Club in Phoenix, Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear.  Although it can be a little chilly during the winter months, one of the best values anywhere is StoneRidge Golf Course in Prescott Valley – it has everything, length, challenge, and views – all for less and often significantly less than $69.  Sedona Golf Resort is also a great value with peak rates of $105.

Arizona Golf Course Phone Numbers

Arizona golf course phone numbers can be easily located on another website called ArizonasGolfCourses.com . Just like the GolfCourseWebPages website, all metro area courses are included and can easily be found by course name or by the city in which they are located. However, all golf courses can be found without knowing the name ahead of time like many of the golf database based sites that are available online. More golf course reviews will be added shortly.

Arizona Golf Information

Arizona golf courses offer one of the best and most diverse varieties of golf in the country with more than 300 courses, most of which are located within 90 minutes of the Phoenix area. There are numerous choices of price, service and layout options to satisfy players of every skill level. These Phoenix Scottsdale area courses create a golf vacation paradise unmatched anywhere in the world.

However, finding information on the large variety of golf courses can be a challenge because so much information is based on third parties that edit out many of the courses that may not fit with the golf packages that are being sold by that particular website. Due to this reason, there was a website created that contains direct links to all Arizona Golf Courses  that allows golfers to reach nearly every golf course website in less than three clicks.  The GolfCourseWebPages site also provides helpful links to golf sites for nearly every state.  We’ll bring you more golf course information shortly but it’s time to tee it up!
