Ted Potter, Jr Wins Masters Par 3 Tournament with RIFE Putter

Friday, April 12th, 2013

Sanford, FL – RIFE had three putters in play at the Par 3 Tournament held on Wednesday of this week at The Masters, but it was a center shafted Iconic putter that sealed the victory for Ted Potter, Jr who captured the crystal trophy after a one-hole sudden death playoff.   Five players finished tied for the lead at 23 (four-under par) after the short, nine-hole layout. Two players opted out of the play-off, leaving three to shoot it out. The winner used his RIFE Vault 001 Series Iconic putter to roll in a birdie putt on the first hole of the playoff and win the event.

“It was exciting to be there and watch the playoff,” said Kyle Ulrikson, RIFE’s PGA Tour Rep, “and even more exciting to see one of our new Vault Series putters used to roll in that winning putt. I mean, it’s The Masters. There’s so much history and tradition around this event that it’s hard to not get excited. Now, hopefully he can break the “curse” and be in the same spot to win this tournament on Sunday.”

The Iconic is part of RIFE’s new Vault 001 Series of putters that are new for 2013. It’s a classically designed blade that features RIFE’s Roll Groove Technology Face.   About RIFE Golf RIFE Golf is the true innovator behind horizontal grooved face putter technology with a patent on specifically sized grooves since 1997. These precisely spaced grooves allow the putter to gently press into the cover of the ball and grip and lift it into an instant forward roll. RIFE states, “just as grooves in irons help control spin so do grooves in a putter face.” Other companies are now trying to imitate this patented technology but the spacing of the grooves is the true key to the gripping and lifting effect of grooved face putter technology. Horizontal RollGrooveTM faced putters create the truest “no skid” roll in golf no matter where you hit the ball on the putter face.
