Tubac Golf Resort
The 27 hole Tubac Golf Resort offers a good combination of holes from the original course, previously named the Tubac Country Club many decades ago, and some new ones added during the past few years including hole 7 on the Rancho nine, a 254 yard par three.
Because of the age of most of the course, there are hundreds of mature cottonwood and mesquite trees defining fairways and holes. The course was made famous by the golf movie, Tin Cup, starring Kevin Costner. A plaque on the 568 yard par five 4th hole (on the Rancho Nine) just in front of the green commemorates the famous scenes shot there in 1995 ( I made par in case you’re wondering).
The resort itself has also been transformed in the past few years with renovated rooms/casitas. The entire property has a cozy but spacious feel, it’s a great place for a trip with a bunch of golf buddies, family reunion, or even meetings and a retreat for a small company. The casitas surround a cozy pool and putting course that are great activities for kids. There is also a spectacular wedding chapel on site that easily holds 250 people.
